Everything on this canvas is moving in the same direction. Bands of color — antique gold, copper, deep plum, olive green, hot pink — run in parallel streams and fold over one another like layers of rock, or a river seen from far above. Metallic pigment runs all the way through it, so the whole surface shifts as you move past.

This one was poured rather than painted. The colors were mixed to the right consistency, layered in a single cup and tipped across the canvas, then tilted until the flow found its own path. You guide it, but you don’t control it — every ribbon and every fine dark line where two colors met is something the paint did on its own.

It joins Unicorn Glow and Unicorn Shine as the pour paintings in the shop, but it’s the only one that works in metallics — which means it changes with the light through the day. It’s stunning near a lamp or a window, and it goes with far more than you’d expect: the palette carries gold, green, plum and pink all at once.
