A fluffy teal owl-like bird with heavy-lidded eyes and a dramatic curved orange beak, set against soft gray. This original 16×20 acrylic is moody, funny, and full of texture. One of a kind.
Percival Featherton is a mountain of teal feathers with two big, sleepy eyes and a long orange beak that hooks down like a question. Every feather is painted with loose, energetic strokes, and the muted gray background lets that teal really sing.
Painted by hand in acrylic, Percival is part of my whimsical bird series — the moodiest, most textural member of the flock. He’s got a “just woke up and judging you a little” expression that makes people laugh out loud the first time they see him.
At 16×20 he’s a real statement piece — perfect for a living room, a studio, an office, or anywhere you want a big personality on the wall. Owl lovers especially fall hard for this one.
Questions before Percival finds his perch? Message me anytime.
Every bird in this series traces back to my grandfather, Dave Coleman — a Seattle jazz drummer who painted birds his whole life. Read the story →
