The ground here is deep — brushed red over black, streaked so the strokes still show. Over the top float soft clusters of white and pale pink that bloom outward at the edges like ink dropped in water, and cutting through the center is a clean white X.

Those blooms happen when wet white meets a wet ground and spreads on its own. You can encourage it but you can’t fully control it, which is why every one of them is a different shape. The dotted trails scattered around the edges were added last, one dot at a time, to give the eye a path through.

Red and black reads as dramatic, but the soft blooms keep this from feeling heavy — it’s balanced. It works over a bed, in a dining room, or anywhere you want depth without darkness. It also looks striking in a plain black frame if you ever want to frame it.
