The first thing you notice is the movement — heavy black spirals sweeping across the canvas, each one filled with royal blue and ticked with little white dashes like rope wrapped around a coil. Underneath, red and blue break into a patchwork of squares and speckles that keeps the whole surface busy in the best way.

I built this one in layers, letting the mottled red-and-blue ground dry before laying the black lines over the top in thick, deliberate strokes. The linework sits up off the canvas — you can feel it with a fingertip. The white dashes went on last, and they’re what make the spirals feel like they’re turning.

This is a small painting with a big voice. It holds its own on a gallery wall, but it’s also the right size for a bookshelf, a desk, or a narrow bit of wall that needs something with personality. If your space leans bold — primary colors, black accents, a little graphic punch — this one will feel at home.
