White and black scrolls unroll across cobalt blue and violet, with a small heart tucked into the corner if you look for it. Rich color, real movement, one quiet surprise. One of a kind, 9×12 original acrylic on stretched canvas.
Two big scrolls curl through this painting — one black, one outlined in soft white — turning in on themselves like ferns opening. They move across a ground of cobalt blue, orchid purple and crimson, with rows of white-ringed dots marching along the left edge and a small heart hidden near the bottom right.
The blue does most of the work here. It’s laid down thick and even so the scrolls have somewhere solid to sit, and the purple and red were worked in around it while everything was still wet, which is why the colors bleed into each other rather than butting up.
Blue and purple is a restful pairing even when the shapes are busy, and that’s what makes this one easy to live with. It’s good in a bedroom, a nursery, or a quiet corner of a living room. The hidden heart makes it a lovely thing to give someone.
