Touch of Yellow is deep ocean blue and teal with thick white drifts scraped across the middle, and hundreds of tiny golden dots falling through it in vertical strands. I put the dots on last, one at a time, and they’re the reason the painting works: blue and gold, a classic pairing, done in a modern way.
