Everything in this painting is moving in the same direction.
The Flow is a poured painting: bands of antique gold, copper, plum, olive green and hot pink running in parallel streams and folding over one another like layers of rock, or a river seen from high above. I mixed the colors, layered them in a single cup and tipped them across the canvas, then tilted it until the paint found its own path. Every fine dark line where two colors met is something the paint did on its own.
This is a fine-art print of that original. The original is painted in metallics; the print keeps every ribbon of color, though not the shimmer.
