Blush white scraped over deep turquoise, breaking apart to let the color show through. It looks like a weathered wall somewhere warm. One of a kind, 9×12 original acrylic on stretched canvas.
Turquoise sits underneath everything here, and over the top a thick blush-white layer has been scraped across and pulled apart, breaking into islands and letting the color underneath come up in pools and cracks. There’s a faint warmth in the corners — a little peach, a little sand.
The whole thing is palette knife work. I laid the turquoise down solid, let it set, then dragged the pale layer over it and lifted it back off in places while it was still moving. Where it pulled away cleanly you get sharp edges; where it dragged you get that torn, plaster-like texture.
This has real presence for such a calm painting — turquoise is a color that carries a room. It’s a natural fit for a bathroom or a coastal-leaning space, but it also does something lovely against a warm white wall in a living room. Hang it with Summer Haze for a soft, textural pair.
