Coral loops and drips fly across a cobalt blue and black ground scattered with round red blooms. It has the energy of a signature written fast. One of a kind, 9×12 original acrylic on stretched canvas.
Big coral-pink loops sweep across the center of this canvas — one curls in on itself, one arcs away — and long drips run down the right side where the paint was allowed to fall. Behind them the ground is electric cobalt over black, with round red blooms scattered across it like buoys.
The loops went on wet and fast with a loaded brush; the drips weren’t planned, they just happened and I liked them enough to keep them. The blue underneath was painted in broad, choppy strokes so it reads as movement rather than a flat field.
Cobalt and coral is one of my favorite combinations — it’s high contrast without being harsh. This one is good in a living room, a studio, or anywhere the room could use some momentum. It’s a painting that makes you want to get on with your day.
