Not every painting has to be loud. This one is the quietest thing I made all summer.
Teal Escape is blush white scraped over deep turquoise with a palette knife, so the color shows through in the cracks and along the edges, like a wall somewhere warm that has been in the sun for years. It’s the piece I’d hang in a bedroom or a bathroom, the one that lowers the temperature of a room instead of raising it.
This is a fine-art print of that original acrylic painting. The matte paper suits it: it holds the scraped texture without any shine.
