White lightning branches across a black and crimson storm, with gold glowing through the breaks. This is the most dramatic little painting I’ve made — all weather and no calm. One of a kind, 8×10 original acrylic on stretched canvas.
Thin white lines fork across the canvas like lightning over a ridge line, and everything they cross is dark — heavy black shapes, deep crimson, and gold that seems to burn up from underneath. Small dotted lines run along the edges like someone tracking something.
The black here is the thickest paint in the whole collection — it’s laid on in slabs, and where it meets the gold you get an edge you can feel. The white branches went on last with a fine brush, in a single quick pass each, so they still have the speed of the stroke in them.
This one suits a moody room. It looks right against charcoal or deep green walls, and it pairs well with black frames, leather and dark wood. If most small art feels too polite for your space, this is the one that won’t.
